The Drove, Wiltshire, gains planning permission

In Architecture, New build, Planning, Rebuild, Residential

Planning permission has recently been given by Wiltshire Council to build a replacement 4 bedroomed, 2.5 storey dwelling, in Semley, Wiltshire.

The current detached house with its existing dilapidated outbuildings will be demolished and replaced with a single detached family home and ancillary garage and entertaining space.  Richmond Bell Architects have created a contemporary design with stone wall finish and charred timber cladding under a clay tiled roof.

The site lies within an area of outstanding natural beauty and the new proposals make the most of the rural views over the Wiltshire countryside.  The design paid close attention to the area’s scenic landscape, and the materials being used have been influenced by the neighbouring properties in the area. The property features an oak framed corner glazing unit at the rear of the property over both floors.  This provides light and the feeling of space to the large kitchen/family room on the ground floor and the master suite on the first floor.
