RBA Day Out!

In Architecture, Business, News, Sustainable, Team

The Richmond Bell Architects team took a day out last week for a Dorset site visit, followed by some design inspiration from the Newt in Somerset.

We started the morning enjoying the sunshine on the site of our new build barn conversion project near Shaftesbury, where the foundations are just being dug and the solar array and field shelter have now been installed. The project will be completely off-grid – to see more details on the project click here.

We then moved on to the Newt in Somerset, a working estate with farmland, woodland, cyder orchards and formal gardens. After a delicious lunch at the Garden Café, we had a wander around the stunning gardens and along the aerial walkway through the trees, where we spotted some native deer on the paths below. We also looked at the architecture and techniques used to build the Threshing Barn and Cyder Bar and the exterior of the Story of Gardening buildings in particular.

In fact, there was so much to see we didn’t manage to fit it all in – we will just have to go back!
