Members of the Richmond Bell team teamed up with Salisbury Foodbank today to help launch the Trussell Trust’s nationwide Christmas Collection at Tesco Salisbury.
The campaign encourages shoppers across the UK to donate essential food items to support individuals and families who may be struggling over the festive season.
Alongside our friends from Planted and members of the Salisbury Foodbank team, we split into two groups - one collecting donations at Tesco and the other sorting items at the foodbank warehouse. Halfway through the day, the groups swapped roles, giving everyone the chance to experience both sides of the operation.
We were genuinely moved by the generosity of the local community and gained a deep appreciation for the vital work carried out by Salisbury Foodbank. From receiving and checking donations to preparing them for distribution, the warehouse team ensures that support reaches those who need it most.
It was a rewarding and eye-opening day, and we’re proud to have contributed to such an important initiative - many thanks to the Foodbank team for having us. We're already looking forward to next year!
