Archello Awards Longlist for Harefield Farmhouse

October 2026

We’re excited to announce that Harefield Farmhouse has been longlisted in the Rural Houses (Large) category of the Archello Awards 2026, alongside an impressive range of projects from across the world.

The Archello Awards celebrate excellence in architecture and design, bringing together projects from an international community of architects, designers and practices. The awards showcase a diverse range of work, recognising thoughtful design and innovative approaches to the built environment.

Located in the Dorset countryside, Harefield Farmhouse reimagines rural living through a contemporary design that draws on traditional materials and the character of its surroundings. The house combines local Marnhull stone and timber cladding with carefully considered glazing, creating a home that feels rooted in its landscape while offering a fresh interpretation of the traditional farmhouse.

Sustainability was central to the project from the outset. Designed to operate off-grid, the house incorporates solar power, battery storage and an air source heat pump, demonstrating how contemporary rural architecture can combine a strong sense of place with a more sustainable way of living.

Being included in the Archello Awards longlist is a welcome recognition of the project, particularly among such a broad international field of entries. We’re pleased to see Harefield Farmhouse gaining recognition beyond the UK and look forward to following the next stages of the awards.
