Richmond Bell designed the listed building conversion of this lovely Grade II building into holiday accommodation. Working closely with a local historian, we devised a scheme that retained the character and some features of the original house, while modernising and improving other aspects.

The house sits sensitively within a parkland landscape and is now available for holiday lets and for special occasions as two separate, luxury, sustainable self-catering holiday properties - Henge Estate.
Working closely with the historian, and through a series of pre-application discussions with the conservation officers at Wiltshire Council, Richmond Bell demonstrated the heritage benefits of the scheme. It showed how the works related to the site and heritage context and was instrumental in gaining Listed Building Consent for the works.
Richmond Bell undertook a masterplanning exercise for the site. As part of this, they achieved planning permission in 2023 for a new swimming pool and pool house, as well as rerouting the driveway to it's original position.
A feasibility phase of the project involved the design of several individual eco-holiday lodges in the grounds of the house, which are ongoing. The works to the house were also broken down into several phases to allow parts of the house to be let, while the other phases were completed.
