Toby Pullen MArchPart II Architectural Assistant

Toby studied architecture at the Arts University Bournemouth and The University of Westminster, focussing his studies on the methods of craft and making. For his MArch dissertation, Toby examined the role of architecture in the rural landscape, a subject inspired by the ruinous pillboxes of the Pewsey Vale. For his final project, Toby proposed a community-led Mitten Crab Fishery for The River Thames to help reduce numbers of invasive Chinese Mitten Crabs, whilst engaging Londoners with their founding watercourse.

Whilst studying at Westminster, Toby worked as a Fabrication Lab Assistant and tutored undergraduate students on the practice of ceramics and pottery. Most notably during a model making exercise for architects Skidmore, Owings & Merril.

As well as ceramics, Toby enjoys climbing and running in his free time.
